I borrowed the illusion pattern from the Alien Illusion scarf. I only had enough green yarn to complete one alien head, though, but I didn’t want to frog the thing when it was done since it was so cool. So I came up with this idea of a simple tote. I knitted a black tube and sewed the bottom to make it into a bag that would fit around a white cotton tote I had been using as a knitting tote. I knitted green tubes to fit around the handles, and ta-dah! The bag has served me mostly as a knitting tote, but also as a handbag.
