I don’t think this is going to work

Look sock, I’m sorry.

I know at first everything was so beautiful, and we said all those things – about how we’d always be together. When I first saw you, I thought we’d be perfect together. But all that’s changed now. I don’t know where I’d ever use a worsted weight sock. I’m not trying to be cruel, but it’s true. All my shoes are too small for socks so thick, and you’re not comfortable enough for a home-sock.

It’s not you, it’s me. I don’t think I’m a good match for you. Your heel and foot are simply too big for me, while the same amount of stitches in a fair isle pattern is a bit too tight for my calf.

I hope you can understand. Just go, sock, and be all the things you can be. While the memories will fade sooner than you can believe, we’ll always have the pictures (or I will at any rate).
